Janet Napoles surrender on August 28 to President Aquino.

In an official statement, presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said Napoles surrendered to President Aquino at 9:37 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2013.

Earlier at the same day, at a press conference on Wednesday, President Benigno Aquino III has announced that a ten million peso reward will be given to anyone who can provide credible information that will lead to the arrest of Napoles.

Aquino has turned the businesswoman over to the custody of interior and local government secretary Mar Roxas and Philippine National Police director-general Alan Purisima “for processing and booking.” Atty. Lorna Kapunan, legal counsel of Napoles, told radio station DZMM that her client voluntarily surrendered to the president after the latter offered the reward money. 

Kapunan reportedly said that Reynald Lim, brother of Napoles, will follow suit.

GMA News report said that, Janet Napoles, the suspected brains behind the P10-billion pork barrel fund scam, spent Wednesday night at a vacant office inside the Philippine National Police headquarters in Camp Crame, Interior secretary Manuel Roxas said Thursday.

SECRETARY LACIERDA: If you’re interested to know the chronology of events, we might as well start out with the chronology of events, or the timeline.

In the morning, when the President announced in his interview there was a ten-million peso bounty—after that, there was subsequent news that Atty. Lorna Kapunan mentioned on TV, or there was a crawler on ANC, that there was a statement coming from Atty. Kapunan that her client was willing to surrender.
