Pushpa Basnet is CNN Hero of the Year 2012- Video

Pushpa Basnet is CNN Hero of the Year 2012. Last year, Filipino-American Robin Lim is the 2011 CNN Hero of the Year who is a world-famous midwife whose motto is: "Gentle births create a gentle world". Her non-profit organization, the Yayasan Bumi Sehat (Healthy Mother Earth) foundation provides healthy and gentle birthing services free of charge for the poorer people of both Bali and the tsunami-ravaged province of Aceh, Sumatra. Pushpa Basnet was shocked to learn that many children in Nepal have to live in prisons with their parents. In 2005, she started a children's center that has provided support, such as housing, education and medical care, to more than 140 children of incarcerated parents.
