Finally, the UP Fighting Maroons got its first win in season 74 of the UAAP, 69-61, beating the UE Red Warriors, Thursday at the Araneta Coliseum.
The win also ended their 18-game losing streak and their first win since August 2009. Mike Gamboa lead the Maroons with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Jett Manuel and Mike Silungan combined for 28 points, four boards and five steals. UP’s next opponent is the NU Bulldogs on Sunday.
